2016 Petrolo Galatrona

Tasting note

Purple with initial garnet reflections. A fleshy, earthy, and intense bouquet displaying notes of lovage, floral hints (lavender), and cloves, with subtle resinous and lactic undertones. Nuances of dark, slightly sanguine meat and a touch of animalism are present, yet the nose remains balanced. The palate is soft, featuring medium, fresh acidity and rounded tannins. The flavour profile is dark-fruited and succulent, showing blackberry and dark plum alongside earthy beetroot. The finish is long and persistent, revealing leathery notes with a hint of tobacco. Throughout, the wine maintains a notable sense of elegance.

Drink through 2046.
