2022 Franz Keller Weißer Burgunder "Edition Fritz Keller"

Tasting note

2022 Weingut Franz Keller Weißer Burgunder "Edition Fritz Keller"

Pale yellow. Restrained aromas on the nose. Primarily fruity with apple, pear, quince, and unripe peach. Medium intensity on the palate. The wine appears fresh given that it has relatively much CO2 for a still wine. The acidity is medium, but it isn't in balance with the rest, coming across as slightly green. I wouldn't be surprised if this Pinot Blanc had been acidified. Nothing wrong with that per se, I've just got the impression that the acidity doesn't support the aromas. The same goes for the CO2, unfortunately. Apart from that, the taste is clean and freshly fruity. Considering this is a wine produced for Aldi, this is without fault, not below average in its peer group, and a solid effort.

Drink through 2024.
