Tasting note

Undoubtedly a young wine with a transparent, bright colour. The year 2021 was a cooler one in Germany, and you can tell that from this wine. Although Baden is the warmest wine-growing region in Germany, the first impression of this Weissburgunder is relatively cool and firm. This is not one of those broad-shouldered Pinot Blancs or Pinot Gris aged for a long time in wood. The bouquet of apricot and citrus rather promises freshness. I therefore suspect that this wine has been matured in steel tanks. I am not thinking of a ripe fruitiness, but of a refreshing fruitiness in a positive sense. On top of that, there is a discreet note of nuts. In the mouth, also a slender body, medium acidity. On the palate, mainly mild lemon with a hint of salty minerality.

A rock-solid estate wine from the Markgräflerland in Baden. Just right, now that the first rays of sun announce spring. A suitable terrace wine, and I don’t mean that disrespectfully.

Drink through 2025.
