A pale ruby with radiant intensity, the elegant and slightly understated bouquet reveals predominantly fresh red fruit and small wild berries with subtle dark accents (sour cherry, strawberry), underpinned by earthy notes, a hint of truffle, and delicate smoke. It is delightfully gourmand, truly lovely, and more inviting than imposing—an impression that carries through to the palate, which presents a slender body with well-balanced alcohol and high acidity, without lacking any of the requisite weight. The fruit is juicy and surprisingly intense (again cherry, strawberry, a little plum), complemented by a prominent minerality, leading into a long, mouth-watering finish that leaves you wanting more. Very good, even excellent, perhaps—and proof positive that Burgundy's heavyweights, such as Jadot, are more than capable of crafting fine wine.
