2020 Klumpp Chardonnay Muschelkalk

Tasting note

2020 Klumpp Chardonnay Muschelkalk

Pale lemon-yellow. Appealing bouquet of fresh lemon, subtle flinty, smoky and woody spice notes, with a touch of yeast. A hint of herbaceousness (tomato leaf). The palate is crisp and lively, again led by lemon. Clean, linear, with medium acidity and a pleasant melt. Not very deep, somewhat one-dimensional, yet lifted by bright fruit. Finishes on grapefruit and apple with a touch of warmth. Shows little age but lacks the depth for further maturation.

Drink through 2026.

Tasted by Dominik Müller on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
