Deep ruby colour. Soft nose with noble, delicate fruit. Red and black cherry, blackberry, bramble, blackcurrant leaves, bell pepper. Roasted coffee beans and earthy undertones. Menthol at the back. Typical Pauillac, but in a softer style. Medium-bodied on the palate, with good intensity. High acidity, superbly integrated silky tannins, really quite refined. Juicy blackcurrant and blackberries, dark cherry jam on the taste. Medium length with cassis, orange zest and a little vanilla in the aftertaste. This is more about the refinement than a show of power. There's a firm core that holds everything nicely together. While the wine is approachable, I can imagine it will open up further in a few years. Very good.
