Pale ruby red colour. Attractive bouquet with good intensity. Wood spices feature prominently at first, accompanied by sour cherry, strawberry and raspberry. The fruit is delicate and just about in balance with the strong secondary aromas: Oak spice, white pepper, a hint of smoke, and coconut. Beginning to develop, the oak influence might integrate more over time. On the palate, light body with light tannins, high in acidity. Not quite the intensity and complexity of flavours as on the nose. Sour cherry, black plum, a tiny bit cooked. The new oak influence is distinctive, vanilla. Herbaceous. Medium length, slightly warm finish. The balance between acidity, secondary aromas and alcohol is not (yet) fully in harmony, but this is a good wine with punch and the potential to age.
Drink from 2025 through 2031.
