McAfee names most risky TLDs

McAfee’s SiteAdvisor research report, based on the company’s extensive site database of the web’s 8.1 million most visited websites, ranked 265 TLDs that were tested for exploits, scams, spam and spyware.

The report says that .ro (Romania) is the world’s most risky TLD of a larger country with 5.6 percent of .ro sites being risky, followed by .ru (Russia) with 4.5 percent risky sites.

.info is the most risky generic TLD (7.5 percent rated risky) and .com is second (5.5 percent).
